Der in Dresden lebende Posaunist Ercole Nisini präsentiert mit dem Projekt „300 Jahre Repertoire für Posaune" auf vier CDs, die jeweils von Noteneditionen flankiert werden, eine Auswahl des Posaunenrepertoires von 1553 bis 1837. Durch die Interpretation von Originalwerken für Posaune, aber auch verschiedener Bearbeitungen im Sinne der Historischen Aufführungspraxis und die Verwendung des entsprechenden historischen Instrumentariums wird der Klang der Posaune der Renaissance, des Barock, der Klassik und Romantik vorgestellt. Die erste CD widmet sich dem frühesten bekannten Originalrepertoire für die Posaune, darunter „Susana d'Orlando" von Francesco Rognoni, das als ältestes Posaunenstück gilt. Für zahlreiche Werke der Renaissancezeit gilt aber, daß die Komponisten den Interpreten einen gewissen Freiraum in der Wahl der Instrumente ließen, was nicht zuletzt praktische Gründe hatte: Man spielte kurzerhand auf den Instrumenten und mit den Musikern, die gerade verfügbar waren. Viele dieser flexibel besetzbaren Kompositionen eignen sich exzellent für eine Umsetzung mit Posaune. Darunter befinden sich zahlreiche Werke der „alla Bastarda"-Praxis: Man spielte oder improvisierte über ein bestehendes, aus einer Motette oder einem Madrigal entnommenes Grundgerüst und führte die neue Linie dabei kreuz und quer durch alle Stimmen, wozu der große Tonumfang der Posaune ideale Voraussetzungen bot.
